Environmental Lecture No 6


*Najafgarh drain is contributing two third of Delhi's sewage. Now  waste management is not an option but a way of life, so reducing waste is everyone's responsibility* said Selvarajan of Green Circle during a talk on *waste, a serious environmental concern* He was delivering a talk and Power Point presentation on Waste Management in a seminar organised under  *Swatch Bharat Abhiyan* by Bhagini Nivedita College (women), Kair village, Najafgarh. Anil Parashar  Green Circle speaking on the topic *Clean environment, a human right perspective* he shared his experience *how he could successfully stop the exploitation of safari karamchari and rag pickers as a human right defender* Earlier, Principal of the college Mrs.Purbi  Saikia welcomed the speakers. .
Mrs. Sushma Khurana , coordinator of the Swatch Bharat Abhiyan assured of all support in waste management. 300 students belonging to Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan and NSS volunteers participated in the seminar and actively interacted with the speakers during the presentation. The effort to sensitise the students on the importance of keeping the environment garbage free was well received by faculty members and students as well. Being inspired by the presentations, students expressed their wish to participate in the ongoing plastic, garbage cleaning  campaign and also wanted to visit Najafgarh drain to study the biodiversity of the jheel and explore the potentials for developing  the nala as a bird park

  1. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this blog post about the Green Delhi App. I was completely unaware of its existence before, and I'm excited to start using it to contribute to a cleaner and healthier Delhi. I believe the app would be a great support to Clean Delhi Green Delhi initiative.
